A facilitated discussion that explores racism, triumphs, and opportunities in Waterloo Region’s sustainability community

Sustainable Waterloo Region has partnered with Future Ancestors Services to offer this two-hour facilitated discussion to past or present members of the Waterloo Region community.

By providing a space for respectful and honest dialogue between Waterloo Region partners and community members about barriers, racism, and opportunities in sustainability, we aim to foster confidence and capacity to move forward in more equitable and anti-racist ways. The session will begin with a presentation about anti-racism and the need for it in the environmental and sustainability sector. Following the presentation, brave space will be created for participants to engage with speaking prompts outlined below.

Buy in Bulk

Buying in bulk is a great way to cut carbon by reducing packaging (embodied carbon and waste) and reducing shipping emissions. Plus, one trip is better than ten.

Bonus: it will likely reduce waste as staff and management begin to keep a close eye on purchasing cycles.
